Adoptable Dogs

Shelby

Age: 3 yrs old

Gender: Female (spayed)

Breed: Pit-bull Mix

About Me: Shelby came to us when she was only a few months old - owner surrender. Shelby was taken to a vet after her first owners noticed she was bumping into things and urinating everywhere - she was diagnosed diabetic and had become blind, secondary to diabetes . Shelby was scheduled to be euthanized because the family did not think they could care for a special needs dog nor the financial aspect. Shelby was surrendered to us and was adopted twice and returned - financial issues. Shelby is an incredibly sweet dog and deserves the best home! She loves everyone she meets and going to the dog park!

Mindy

Age: 6 years old

Gender: Female (Spayed)

Breed: Pitbull/English Bulldog Mix

About Me: Mindy was brought into the Harris County Shelter, along with her brother Mork who unfortunately passed away due to cancer. Mindy was surrendered by her owners. She was in rough shape. This poor girl was suffering from a bacterial skin infection called Pyoderma. She was also high heartworm positive, but has been treated. She was also likely bred several times before her owners abandoned her at the shelter. Mindy is a sweet girl who loves to play and cuddle. She is good with other dogs, but needs time to acclimate and decompress. She would do best in a home as an only dog or with male dogs. Additionally, she would do best in a home with no kids or with kids who are above the age of 16. She is currently in training and has made a ton of progress.

Professor Brown is the calmer and darker of the two, while he enjoys playing with his furry friends, he can be a bit more reserved. He would prefer hanging out by your side or off on his own. Foster mom says he can be a love bug and enjoys cuddling - at his terms!
